Let's Talk Nvidia: I would be surprised if you, the reader (yes, you!)do not know of GPU chipset giant Nvidia. Yesterday, at the SC13 conference (a supercomputer conference), Nvidia announced their brand new Tesla K40 GPU.This new GPU has an astounding 2888 cores and 6 Gigabytes of memory (Hot Hardware). This event also was the announcement of their (Nvidia's) new partnership with IBM.
How about those bitcoins?: As I said in yesterday's issue (Link is here!), I would look into the P2P internet currency known as bitcoins. Today, however, there was a US Senate hearing on bitcoins. I quote Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) "Virtual currencies, perhaps most notably Bitcoin, have captured the imagination of some, struck fear among others, and have confused the heck out of many of us." So what exactly is a bitcoin? According to Bitcoin.org,(Link Here!), Bitcoin is "Open-source; it's design is public, nobody owns or controls Bitcoin and everyone can take part." I think that sums it up pretty well.
Again, Techtronix News is topical, so there is a set amount of topics we will cover per night. Tomorrow night, I'll cover the latest hot tech news, and look into the NSA's spying program, and of course, any news that breaks in the realm of tech.
